What is the Locum? The policy will only cover Insured’s (the individual named on the insurance policy) vicarious liability for the work undertaken by a locum. The cover does not extend to the actual locum (they should have their own insurance in place).
Vicarious liability refers to a situation where someone is held responsible for the actions or omissions of another person. In a workplace context, an employer can be liable for the acts or omissions of its employees, provided it can be shown that they took place in the course of their employment.
Note: If cover is required under the Insured’s policy FOR the actual locum, then we need to charge additional premium.
